(Gandhian Peace Society, SC052875  is an official registered charity in the United Kingdom, the first of its kind in Scotland. The mission of the Gandhian Peace Society is to promote the idea that non-violence is the most effective means of achieving social change. The organisation accomplishes this mission through various programs and initiatives, including educational programs, community outreach, and advocacy.)

This charitable society has been recently founded in Oct 2023 by a group of Gandhi admirers and followers- Anuranjan Jha, Dhruva Kumar, and Scott McCabe who wanted to spread his message of peace, truth, love, and justice in the modern world.

The Gandhian Peace Society’s mission is to promote the idea that non-violence is the most effective means of achieving social change. We accomplish this mission through various programs and initiatives, including educational programs, community outreach, and advocacy.

One of our critical initiatives is to promote peace and understanding between different nations, communities, and religions. We believe that by fostering dialogue and cooperation, it is possible to create a more peaceful and harmonious society.

The society organises various events and activities to educate the public about Gandhi’s life, work, and philosophy. Some of these include lectures, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, film screenings, book launches, and cultural programmes. The society also supports and collaborates with other organisations and movements that share its vision of a peaceful and harmonious world.

The society believes that Gandhi’s teachings are relevant and applicable to the current challenges and conflicts humanity faces, such as violence, injustice, oppression, poverty, environmental degradation, and intolerance. The society seeks to inspire and empower people to adopt Gandhi’s methods of non-violence, dialogue, and constructive action to transform themselves and their societies.

The society is based on the Gandhian concept of Sarvodaya, which means the welfare and good of all. The society welcomes people of all backgrounds, faiths, cultures, and ideologies to join its membership and participate in its activities. The society respects and celebrates the diversity and plurality of human beings while recognising their common humanity and interdependence.

The society is run by a team of dedicated Global Advisory Council, Governing Committee, trustees named above, management and Secretariats, a regional network of members, volunteers, and groups across the United Kingdom, India and Globe passionate about Gandhi’s legacy and mission. The society relies on donations and grants from its members and supporters to fund its projects and programmes. The society is transparent and accountable in its financial and administrative matters and will publish its annual reports and accounts on its website per regulator OSCR requirements.

Another critical aspect of the organisation’s work is to promote the idea of sustainable living. The Gandhian Peace Society believes that by living in harmony with nature and adopting sustainable practices, it is possible to create a more equitable and just society.
